Farmer organizations had already announced a three-hour rail roko movement from 12 noon to 3 pm. The protesting farmers had tried to enter Delhi thrice but failed. Farmers are protesting against other demands including legal guarantee on MSP. Farmers leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that they will continue to sit on the railway track like this from 12 to 3 pm. Protests were held at various places including Amritsar.
Rail roko agitation by farmers has affected rail services on important railway lines like Delhi-Jammu, Delhi-Amritsar, Delhi-Jalandhar and Delhi-Firozpur. Due to which passengers are facing inconvenience. Considering the situation, Indian Railways has changed the routes of some trains.
Sarwan Singh Pandher said that Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh reached Khanauri border and along with him many Punjabi singers and many great personalities reached. Singh inquired about the health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal. Lakhs of farmers, laborers and youth participated in the mass movement on Tuesday.
