Cold has increased due to rain in the eastern and central states of the country. On the other hand, the rains in some states have increased the problems of the people.
There are chances of rain in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh today. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for the next four days in Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep in the next 4-5 days.
15 states including Punjab, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh will remain under fog even today. There was fog in these states yesterday also.
In view of the increasing cold, the Uttar Pradesh Education Department has changed the timings of secondary schools in the state. Schools will now operate from 10 am to 3 pm.
At the same time, in Jaipur, Rajasthan, winter holidays up to class 8 in government and private schools have been extended till January 13. Schools will open in Sikar also from January 15.
Cold day was recorded in Delhi on 5 December. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 9.4 degrees on Friday, which is 3 degrees more than normal.
Temperatures in parts of MP, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Odisha were recorded 2-4 degrees Celsius below normal. At the same time, the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Bikaner at 2.8 degrees Celsius.
