Muscat: Oman night curfew in connection with the month of Ramadan. All commercial activities and the movement of people throughout the holy month of Ramadan are prohibited. This is the second time that the holy month of Ramadan has been celebrated during the Kovid expansion. Night curfew has been imposed in the country since April 14 in connection with Ramadan.
All types of gatherings, including iftars in mosques, tents or public places, will be regulated. The ban will last from 9pm to 4am throughout the holy month of Ramadan. The Supreme Committee of Oman, set up to deal with all matters relating to the Kovid epidemic in the country, has banned all social, sporting, cultural and other organized activities throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
Workers in the oil, health, utility, food, media and three-tonne trucks are exempt from the ban. Although commercial activities are prohibited, pharmacies are allowed to operate. Concessions will also be given to workers in factories, stores, loading and unloading operations, sewage tankers and filling stations operating on shifts. Concessions will be given to beekeepers and food labs if approved by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. The Minister of Information and a member of the Kovid Supreme Committee, Dr. A.S. Abdullah Nasser al-Harazi said.
In Oman, nine more people have died of Kovid infection in the past 24 hours. So far, 1,798 people have died of Kovid in the country. About 1,335 people in the country have contracted the disease. The total number of Kovid victims in Oman has risen to 17,4364. 785 people were cured. So far, 154,771 people have been diagnosed with the disease in the country.
