Chennai: Tamil Nadu beat Assam by an innings and 70 runs in Ranji Trophy cricket.
In this match held at Chepakkam ground in Chennai, the Tamil Nadu team was bowled out for 540 runs in the first innings. Pradosh Ranjan Paul scored 153 and Vijay Shankar scored 112 runs. Assam were bowled out for 266 in 100.2 overs in the first innings. Assam bowled out for 204 runs in 88.1 overs in yesterday’s last day’s play after playing the 2nd innings trailing by 216 runs.
As a result, Tamil Nadu team won by an innings and 70 runs. Rishav Das scored 58 runs and Rahul Hazarika scored 40 runs for Assam. Ajith Ram took 5 wickets and Baba Aparajith and Sai Kishore took 2 wickets each for Tamilnadu team.
