In Delhi Corona virus Ration items will be provided free of cost for the next 2 months to help people who have lost their livelihood due to the current practice of Lactown to combat the spread. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today announced a subsidy of Rs 5,000 per taxi and auto driver.
More than 25,000 people were infected with the corona virus daily in the last 3 weeks in Delhi. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said that Delhi’s medical system was in a state of disarray.
As a result, the curfew has been in place for the past three weeks, with strict rules allowing only essential services. The corona exposure was reduced by 30 percent during this 3 week curfew and the daily exposure was reduced to 18,000.
In this context, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal gave an interview to reporters today.
Then he said:
“Since the introduction of Lockdown in Delhi, the number of people infected with the corona virus has been declining. However, this lockdown has caused many people financial problems and economic crisis.
Construction workers and wage workers are particularly affected. Last month we provided financial assistance of Rs. 5,000 to registered construction workers.
In this case, all ration card holders will be given free items for the next 2 months. Auto and rental car drivers are also daily income earners. As they too will have difficulty during the lockdown, registered drivers will be paid Rs 5,000 each. This offer will not continue to be offered. Once the corona damage is reduced the restrictions are relaxed and the curfew is lifted.
People know that this help will not be enough. However, there will be little help from the government for them at this time. 1.56 lakh drivers were funded during the lockdown last year. We are going through a difficult time. We have to cross the very dangerous 2nd wave. “
Thus said Kejriwal.
