RCB will buy both of them again in the IPL 2022 auction: Jopra Josyam

Former Indian cricketer Akash Chopra has predicted that the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise will buy back fast bowler Herschelle Patel and spinner Yuzvender Chahal in the mega auction of players for the IPL 2022 season. The Bengaluru franchise has retained only Virat Kohli (Rs 15 crore), Glenn Maxwell (Rs 11 crore) and Mohammad Siraj (Rs 7 crore) for the IPL 2022 season. The IPL 2022 season player auction will be held on February 12 and 13 in Bangalore.

In fact, it is widely expected that the Bengaluru franchise will also retain fast bowler Herschelle Patel for IPL 2022. Herschelle Patel, who played 15 matches for Bangalore in the IPL 2021 season, took 32 wickets and became the Purple Cap Holder. But .. leaving him in Bangalore for auction also surprised everyone. Bangalore also dropped senior wrist spinner Chahal for auction. Chahal, who played 15 matches last year, took 18 wickets.

Chahal and Hershel Patel, who have registered their names for the IPL 2022 season auction, have set their minimum price at Rs 2 crore. On the other hand, the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise is coming up for auction with Rs 57 crore. In this context, Aakash Chopra said, “I expect Chahal and Hershel Patel to be bought again at the Bangalore franchise auction. Their price is likely to be around Rs 7-8 crore, ”he said. In IPL 2018, Bangalore bought Chahal for Rs 6 crore with a minimum bid of Rs 2 crore. RCB also bought Herschelle Patel for Rs 20 lakh last year.
