However, this is a little surprising news for the fans of Virat Kohli as the cricket king will not appear as captain. The team’s promising and explosive batsman Rajat Patidar has been declared the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The RCB franchise announced the captain’s name while holding a press conference today on 13 February. Rajat Patidar won a lot of matches last season on the basis of his brilliant batting. A video of Virat Kohli was also shown during the press conference, in which he announced to be made captain by praising Rajat Patidar.
He said- Rajat Patidar is flourishing in this franchise. They have capacity. We will support all of us. We all want it to take the greatness of the team forward. Also, Kohli said to the fans- I hope the new captain Rajat will get a lot of support. Let us know that Rajat Patidar is part of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) from 2021. He got only 4 matches in the first season, while he scored 71 runs.
However, in 2022, he scored 333 runs in 8 matches, including a century, a strike rate of 152.75. In 2024 too, his bat spoke a lot. He scored 395 runs in 13 innings of 15 matches.
