New Delhi . India is all set to welcome 5G once the 5G auction is over and the network infrastructure is completely ready. Once the services are launched, 5G can bring many opportunities especially in Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Internet of Things and much more. With this technology brands have also prepared themselves for 5G. Realme is already equipped with 5G-enabled smartphones with 5 million users.
Realme was the first brand to introduce a 5G smartphone in India in 2020, when talks about 5G had just started. The brand believes that users are ready for advanced technology and should have easy access.
In the last two years, Realme has introduced 23 5G-enabled smartphones across all price segments and has directed all its efforts towards making 5G cellphones for the country. More than 50 percent of Realme’s portfolio is now 5G-enabled, with the Realme 9i 5G being one of the latest affordable 5G smartphones.
Not only this, Realme took note of all the network bands being made available during the auction and ensured that its smartphone supports all those bands so that no user faces any challenge while accepting the new technology.
Realme believes that 5G has the potential to bring the entire technology ecosystem together and hence, has dedicated 90 per cent of its research and development efforts to 5G technologies and equipment. The results of these investments can be seen as the brand is now also working towards equipping its AIoT devices with 5G, the first being the Realme Pad X.
The brand has chalked out a detailed plan to further its efforts in 5G and make it more accessible for premium as well as mass users. The brand is rolling out regular OTA updates to make its products 5G ready and aims to make 80 percent users 5G ready before 5G officially rolls out. Being committed to bringing the best of 5G experience to its users and leading to global adoption of 5G products, Realme plans to set up seven R&D centers across the world including India.
To encourage more users to opt for 5G smartphones, Realme is currently offering massive discounts of up to Rs 15,000 on its smartphone range including 5G-enabled smartphones.

By next year, Realme aims to expand its existing 5G portfolio to 23 devices in India by 2023 and is aiming to launch 100% 5G models for its Number series next year.
