Reduced price of commercial cooking gas cylinders. The new price implemented by petroleum and oil marketing companies came into effect from today (May 1). 171.50 per 19 kg commercial cooking gas cylinder has been reduced. At the same time, there is no change in the price of cooking gas cylinders for domestic use. LPG for commercial use in Kerala will now cost between 1860 to 1870 rupees per cylinder. As per the new rates, a 19 kg cylinder will cost Rs 1,856.50 in Delhi. 1,808 in Mumbai. Earlier it was Rs 1,980. 2,132 per cylinder in Kolkata. 1,960.50 will now be paid as per the new rates. In Chennai, the price has come down from Rs 2,192 to Rs 2,021.

Compared to LPG price for domestic use, the price level of LPG cylinders for commercial use tends to fluctuate. The price of LPG cylinders for commercial use has been reduced by Rs 92 on April 1, starting the financial year 2023-2024.

Last March, the price of LPG cylinders for commercial use was increased by Rs 171.50. 350.50 per cylinder has increased the price. Along with this, there was an increase in the price of cooking gas cylinders for domestic use. The price has been increased by Rs 50 per cylinder.

In January 2023 as well, LPG cylinders for domestic use have increased by Rs.25. In 2022, the price of LPG for domestic consumption has been increased four times and reduced three times. On September 1 last year, the price of LPG cylinders for commercial use was reduced to Rs 91.50. In August 2022, there was also a reduction of Rs 36 and in July a reduction of Rs 8.5 per cylinder.

Prices of LPG cylinders for domestic use vary between states. Retailers set prices at the beginning of every month based on local taxes. Global crude oil prices are also a factor influencing LPG prices. Currently, the price of crude oil is trading below 80 dollars.
