Reliance Retail Adds Three More Brands To Its FMCG Division

Reliance Retails, the country’s leading retailer group, has added beverage brand Raski and confectionery brand Tofiman to its portfolio through acquisitions as part of its expansion into the FMCG segment. Also, the company has entered into a partnership with Sri Lanka-based biscuit brand Maliban, the company said on Friday after announcing its fourth quarter results.This quarter, the aim is to grow the product range of the retail business by adding Maliban (biscuits), Raskik (beverages) and Toffeeman (candy) to the portfolio, a statement from Reliance Industries said. says Raskik is a beverages startup that has introduced a portfolio of natural fusion beverages sold through multiple channels including general merchandise, local chains and online grocers. The Toffeeman brand is owned by Sweet Confectionery with over three decades of expertise in the confectionery market.

In the consumer brand business, Reliance has a strong growth trajectory. All categories are very good. The company is now leveraging capabilities, expanding its distribution network and introducing new products. The company has launched several new products this quarter, said Dinesh Taluja, CFO of Reliance Retail. The company introduced the previously acquired Campa Cola brand during the quarter. According to the CFO, the company has partnered with Maliban, which launched Raskic brand in biscuits and beverages and Toffeeman in candy brand.

The company is focusing on expanding its distribution network across various regions along with its product offering in the consumer brand business. As part of its FMCG expansion, Reliance Retail has acquired several brands including Sosyo, Lotus Chocolate and Campa Cola. Earlier, it launched consumer-packaged goods brand Independence in December. Under this brand, the company offers a wide range of products across multiple categories including staples, processed foods and other daily essentials.

Reliance Retail aims to become a relevant brand in the $110 billion FMCG segment, the company said. The products of RCPL, the FMCG division and wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), are available only in select markets. Meanwhile, Reliance Retail on Friday reported a 12.9 percent rise in net profit to Rs 2,415 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2023. The company’s operating income rose 21.09 percent to Rs 61,559 crore in the fourth quarter of this fiscal.
