The Pakistani Prime Minister said on Twitter that he strongly condemned the BJP leader’s words about the Prophet. Shahbaz Sharif also alleged that religious freedom had been lost in India under the current government. “India under Modi has repeatedly said that it is undermining religious freedom and persecuting Muslims. The world should pay attention to this and reprimand India severely.” He said.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister also shared the Prime Minister’s tweet. Pakistan’s criticism of the BJP leader’s remarks comes as the Gulf states tighten their grip. Earlier, Qatar, Kuwait and Iran protested the controversial statement.
The Arab countries protested after the Indian ambassador was summoned. Qatar and Kuwait have demanded a public apology over the controversy. Kuwait says such statements have the potential to increase terrorism and hostility. Qatar, meanwhile, welcomed the suspension of Nupur on the basis of the statement.

Oman Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmed bin Al Khalili said the statement by a spokesman for the ruling party in India could not be accepted. Nupur Sharma’s controversial statement was made during an earlier channel discussion on the Gyanwapi issue. Protests are rising in the Arab world against the BJP leaders’ statement.
