Dubai: The Dubai Labor Affairs Standing Committee has felicitated the motorcycle-delivery boy who made waves on social media by removing a block of cement from a busy road in Alkhus. The Department of Labor specially congratulated the delivery boy Abdul Ghafoor, a native of Pakistan, by inviting him to the Jebel Ali office. Major General Obaid Muhair bin Surur, Chairman of Dubai Permanent Committee of Labor Affairs and Assistant Director of GDRFAD presented the department’s special prizes and certificates.
The work of Abdul Ghafoor, who marked the good, gave a great message to the society. Major General Obaid Muhair bin Surur said that he voluntarily came forward to remove the road block considering the safety of others, which is a good example of social responsibility. The Major General added on the occasion that his work is respected by the Dubai Labor Standing Committee.
The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, had also met and praised him a few days ago. A video of Ghafoor removing concrete blocks that were obstructing the passengers on the road was circulated in the social media. The video is getting a lot of attention because he praised Sheikh Hamdan Abdul Ghafoor through his Twitter account. Sheikh Hamdan tweeted that this good deed is commendable.
He also asked the public for more information to contact Ghafoor through a tweet. “This good deed in Dubai is commendable. Can anyone lead me to this man?’, Sheikh Hamdan tweeted at that time. Immediately after the tweet, Sheikh Hamdan announced that he had found Ghafoor on his social media. Sheikh Hamdan, who was out of the country at the time, returned to Dubai and met the delivery boy in person.
