As detailed by the same sources, the limitation of operational capacity will force the service to be provided in the following way:
- On the one hand, The Recoletos station will open and the service will be provided on a single platformwith a stop for trains from Guadalajara and El Escorial, since circulation is restricted to a single track.
- On the other hand, the trains coming from the Green Hall to Atocha will end and begin service in Atocha and Trains from the airport will end and begin service in Nuevos Ministerios.
- Likewise, trains from Príncipe Pío to Chamartín will end and begin their service in Pitis.
- For its part, Renfe will also maintain an alternative transportation plan for Medium and Long distance trains that originate or destination Alcázar de San Juan, Jaén, Almería or Extremadura. In this case, the trains to Almería, Jaén or Extremadura will leave from Chamartín and travel along an alternative route, called ‘contour’, towards Villaverde Bajo. There, the trains wait for travelers who originated in Atocha, from where they leave on Cercanías to Villaverde Bajo to transfer to the train to their destination. In the case of travelers originating in Almería, Jaén, Alcázar de San Juan and Extremadura, they will reach Aranjuez or Leganés, respectively, and there they will transfer to Cercanías trains to Atocha.
As indicated by sources, Renfe is updating the information through all its channels and customer service and Adif and Renfe technicians have been working since Sunday afternoon in the resolution of the incident to restore circulation on the two roads between Atocha and Recoletos and recover full normality as soon as possible.
