Digital Desk, Rabat. The Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA) has announced the extension of the international flight ban for another month until January 31, 2022.

During the cabinet meeting, the North African country has extended the state of health emergency across the country till January 31, 2022, reports Xinhua news agency. The suspension of international passenger flights and the closure of Moroccan air borders came into force on 29 November to prevent the spread of the new Corona Omicron variant.

It has also stopped repatriation flights of its citizens stranded abroad, which were launched from Portugal, Turkey and the UAE between December 15 and 23. Only special repatriation flights from Morocco are now authorized, specifically to France, Turkey, the US and Gulf countries.

Meanwhile, according to the Ministry of Health, 654 new cases of corona were reported in Morocco in the last 24 hours while 237 people have recovered. So far, a total of 24,525,567 people have received the first dose of corona vaccine and the total number of fully vaccinated people has increased to 22,885,067, while 2,655,175 people have received the booster shot.
