Five persons were killed and several others were seriously injured in a road accident at Hassanpalli in Kamareddy district on Sunday evening.

A lorry carrying passengers collided head-on with a lorry at Hanaspally Gate. With this the whole week in the auto was blown away. Those present responded immediately and carried out relief work for the victims. Upon receiving the information, the police reached there shortly after and rushed the injured to the hospital. The dead and injured were identified as belonging to Chilargi village in Pitlam zone. The accident took place while they were returning to their hometown to attend the Dasha Dinakarma of relatives in Ellareddy. Their family members and relatives were devastated when the news broke.
