Bahia, currently in 16th place in the Brazilian Championship, fighting against relegation, announced this Saturday (9) the hiring of Rogério Ceni as its new coach, after Renato Paiva resigned last Wednesday (6).
The information was provided by Globo Esporte on Friday (8) and confirmed by the club this Saturday. The former goalkeeper signed with the club until 2025 and will be presented on Monday afternoon (11), after his first session with the players, in the morning.
Completing the technical committee are assistants Charles Hembert, Leandro Macagnan and Nelson Simões, as well as physical trainer Danilo Augusto. Ceni, a São Paulo idol as a player for two decades, was fired from the São Paulo team in April, in his second spell as coach, after disappointing results.
