As a result of the strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Melitopol, four people were previously injured. About this on Monday, March 27, the chairman of the movement “We are together with Russia”, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region Vladimir Rogov.
The shelling was carried out at 8:15 Moscow time
“The fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched an artillery strike on a peaceful city. <…> According to preliminary information, four people were injured, several buildings were damaged,” Rogov wrote in his Telegram channel.
He added that the building next to the college on 50th Anniversary of Victory Avenue was partially destroyed. It is noted that classes were held there from 8:00.
The shelling, presumably, was carried out from the settlement of Orekhov.
Initially, on Monday, Rogov wrote that the explosions, according to preliminary data, are related to the operation of the air defense system (air defense).
The building next to the multidisciplinary college was partially destroyed, the college premises were also damaged after the impact. As the administration of Melitopol wrote in the Telegram channel, after the shelling of the city, the children from the college were evacuated to a safe place, provided with food and everything necessary. Psychologists also work with them.
In addition, the dormitory of Moscow State University named after Makarenko was damaged as a result of the impact. 46 people were evacuated from the building, there were no injuries.
Also on March 27, emergency services reported that during the morning shelling of Melitopol, a hit was also recorded in the area of the air town. One shell hit the garage, windows flew out in a neighboring building. There are no victims or injured.
Earlier, on March 23, an explosion also occurred in Melitopol. As a result, a police officer was injured, he was hospitalized with injuries of varying severity. The accident happened near the fire station. Melitopol authorities reported that an improvised explosive device went off on Krupskaya Street.
A member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region called the explosion a terrorist act. He pointed out that Ukrainian special services were behind the incident.
