Nagpur: By scoring a century in the first Test match against Australia, Rohit Sharma has created the record of being the only Indian captain to score a century in all three formats – Test, ODI and T20I.
As the captain of the Indian team, Rohit has scored three centuries in ODI cricket and twice in T20 cricket. Sri Lanka’s Dilshan, South Africa’s Doublesi and Pakistan’s Babar Azam are the captains in international cricket who have scored centuries in all three formats.
Rohit stood his ground against Australia as India’s top order faltered and scored a ton. This is his first century as the captain of the Indian team in Test cricket. The 35-year-old has so far scored 3,137 runs in 45 Test matches. This includes 9 centuries and 14 fifties.
He has been playing for the Indian team as an opener in Test cricket since 2019. He has scored 6 centuries as an opener. This is his first Test cricket century against Australia.
