Mumbai: Indian cricket team chairman Chetan Sharma said that captain Rohit Sharma gave a lot of support to Indian player Virat Kohli when he struggled to add runs. He said this in a sting operation conducted by a private television.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India stripped Kohli of the Test and ODI captaincy after he stepped down from the T20I captaincy. Kohli publicly expressed his displeasure over this. It was said that the then BCCI president Ganguly was the reason for his loss of captaincy. Chetan Sharma has said that Ganguly does not like to catch Kohli in this environment. He also said that Indian players are using doping.
“Rohit was giving his maximum support to Kohli when he struggled to add runs. “If that’s the extent, it’s more than the support given by everyone else in the team,” said Chetan Sharma.
When Kohli struggled to add runs, many criticized him for not being included in the team. At the same time, some people commented in support that he will definitely play great as before. In the end, Kohli made a tremendous comeback by hitting a century in the Asia Cup T20 series in September 2022. He also waited for Rohit’s trust in him. He also performed well in the T20 World Cup last year.
