The special forces of the Russian Guard shot down a drone of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, they said on Friday, May 13, in the press service of the power structure. The department released footage from the scene.
“During reconnaissance and search activities in a forest in the immediate vicinity of the positions of the troops, the Russian Guards shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle of the A1-SM Fury type. This multi-purpose unmanned aerial system is in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is used to conduct aerial reconnaissance at any time of the day, determine the coordinates of targets and adjust artillery fire, ”the release states.
On May 12, it was reported that an unmanned aerial vehicle “Bayraktar-TB2” was shot down by Russian air defense systems in the area of Zmeiny Island. In just one day, 13 Ukrainian drones were destroyed in the areas of the settlements of Velikie Prokhody, Velyka Kamyshevakha, Kharkiv region, Panteleymonovka, Avdeevka and Dolya of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Oknino and Fabrichnoe of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), Glubokoye, Chernihiv region, Barvinok and Vladimirovka, Dnipropetrovsk areas.
A day earlier, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said that air defense systems destroyed nine Ukrainian military drones: four in the Balakleya area of the Kharkov region, three in the Rubizhnoye area of the Lugansk People’s Republic, one in the area of the Zmeiny skeleton and one ” Bayraktar-TB2″ – near the village of Arkhangelsk, Nikolaev region.
On May 9, the Russian Armed Forces destroyed three drones in the areas of the settlements of Mospino, Yunokommunarsk of the DPR and the city of Odessa, and also shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 attack aircraft in the Kharkiv region during an air battle.
