Within two months, Russia will begin mass production of a new generation of electronic warfare (EW) systems to counter drones, the Rostec press service told reporters on January 4.
It is noted that the means of electronic warfare will be both aviation and ground.
“Within 1-2 months, it is planned to complete state tests and switch to serial production of a fundamentally new generation of aviation and ground-based electronic warfare and anti-UAV systems,” the report says.
The state corporation also emphasized that their enterprises are increasing the pace of production of weapons and special equipment. We are talking about attack and transport helicopters, new and modernized combat fighters, front-line bombers, strategic missile carriers, transport and combat training aircraft.
“Missile formations are replenished with Iskander-M complexes, anti-aircraft gunners receive Pantsir-S1 complexes. Deliveries of T-72B3, T-72B3M, T-80BVM and T-90M tanks continue,” Rostec said.
In addition, artillery mounts, self-propelled mortars, and heavy flamethrower systems are produced.
In early September, it was reported that missiles with electronic warfare UAVs inside were being developed for Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
