Yesterday evening, the competitions and activities of the fifth edition of the “Historic Delma Race Festival”, which is being held on the beach of Delma Island in the Al Dhafra region, kicked off. The festival will continue until the 20th of this month, organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club and the Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs Committee in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. The fifth session of the Dalma Standing Rowing Race was launched, and the race is being held in cooperation with the Emirates Kite Surf, Rowing and Water Skiing Committee.
The race witnessed wide participation from more than 12 nationalities, within all its categories (local, men, women, children) in its first rounds, and it is expected that the upcoming rounds on the 14th and 15th of this month will witness wider participation from the contestants. On its first day, the festival included artistic and folk performances from the Emirati heritage.
