Chennai: “As expected, the central government and the Reserve Bank have withdrawn the 2000 rupee note and have given time till September 30 to exchange these notes,” said senior Congress leader and MP P Chidambaram.
In a post published on his social media page in this regard, he said, “As expected, the central government and the Reserve Bank have withdrawn the 2000 rupee note and given time till September 30 to exchange the notes. People did not accept the 2000 rupee notes. What we said in 2016 has now been proved right. In November 2016, the central government Demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes was definitely a foolish move to deal with the biggest mistake made.
