Russian natural gas giant Gazprom said in a regulatory filing today, Tuesday, that it is establishing a unit in the Middle East.
It did not disclose details.
Many Russian companies are moving their businesses away from Europe, which has imposed sanctions on Moscow over its actions in Ukraine.
It is worth noting that the Russian company Gazprom said that it will ship 41.7 million cubic meters of gas to Europe via Ukraine, a slight increase from 40 million cubic meters.
Explosions occurred on September 26 at the Nord Stream pipelines connecting Russia and Germany in the exclusive economic zones of Sweden and Denmark.
The Russian state company Gazprom built the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines, each consisting of two pipelines under the Baltic Sea, to pump 110 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually to Germany.
