In Ukraine, a Russian military journalist, the head of the information response group of the first department of the department for interaction with the media of the Russian Guard, Colonel Sergey Postnov, died. This was reported in the press service of the Council of Veterans of the central office of the Department of Internal Affairs (OVD).
“On the night of June 13-14, 2022, the life of Sergei Postnov was cut short while performing his military duty. ‹…› For more than four months, Sergei Postnov performed service and combat missions in the zone of the special operation. As part of the “V” group, he broke through to Gostomel, then participated in the liberation of a number of cities and towns in the Kharkov region and the LPR, ”the message says.
Postnov graduated from the Yekaterinburg Suvorov Military School in 1997. In 2002, after graduating from the Faculty of Culture and Journalism of the Military University of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, he was assigned to the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. He worked as a correspondent, and later as editor of the district newspaper Zorkiy Sentry. The journalist performed the tasks of providing information support to troops in various hot spots. For a long time he worked in the editorial office of the military magazine “On a combat post”, from where he was appointed to the Central Office of the Russian Guard.
On February 24, Russia announced the start of a special operation to protect Donbass. The operation began against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region in mid-February. The authorities of the DPR and LPR reported increased shelling by Ukrainian troops, announced the evacuation of civilians in the Russian Federation and asked for recognition of independence. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a corresponding decree.
