Egyptian international star Mohamed Salah led his team, Liverpool, to sweep its host, Leeds United, 6-1, on Monday, in the thirty-first stage of the English Premier League.
Salah, captain of the Egyptian national team, scored the second and fourth goals for Liverpool, and his Portuguese colleague Diogo Jota scored two goals.
Dutchman Cody Gakbo opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 35th minute, and four minutes later Salah added the second goal.
Two minutes after the start of the second half, Luis Sinistera responded with a goal for Leeds United, but Jota managed to score Liverpool’s third goal in the 52nd minute.
Salah returned and scored his second goal and the fourth for Liverpool in the 64th minute, then Jota scored his second goal and the fifth for the guest team in the 73rd minute, before the Uruguayan Darwin Nunez concluded the goal festival in the final seconds.
Liverpool’s balance was raised to 47 points in eighth place, and Leeds’ balance stopped at 29 points in sixteenth place.
