Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool player, confirmed that he will be with his colleagues “hungry” next season, after his team failed to win any major title during the current season.
Salah scored a goal against Manchester City at the start of the match on Sunday, but it was not enough to prevent his team losing four goals against Pep Guardiola’s squad, which played without the brilliant striker Erling Haaland.
Salah said, in statements reported by BT Sport: Everything that happened will make us hungrier next season. To get back to the top again.
And follow: we are hungry and we love to play together. We have a group that’s played together for five or six years. So we just enjoy playing football here and we play football, that’s why we say we will come back stronger next season.
Jurgen Klopp’s team won two local championships in the cup last season and were in competition for the English Premier League and the European Champions League until the end, before losing the title by a point to Manchester City and narrowly losing the Champions League to Real Madrid.
A return to the Champions League will now be a priority for Liverpool, with the Reds seven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham, while they meet Chelsea on Tuesday.
