The second edition of the “My Wash” Ramadan challenge for bicycles, the community race for male and female citizens, organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in cooperation with “My Wash”, last Friday and Saturday, on Al Hudayriat Island in Abu Dhabi, witnessed great successes, with distinguished participation, in A special Ramadan atmosphere, and strong competition among all participants.
The challenge, which came as part of the agenda of community sporting events organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, to encourage the practice of sports, spread the culture of cycling and expand the base of its practitioners, was launched on Friday, April 7, for a distance of 60 km for the category of citizens, where Salem Al-Shumaili of the Al-Shaafar Jumeirah team was crowned first place after The race distance was covered with a time of 01:18:13 hours, and Tariq Al Balushi from the Abu Dhabi Cycling Club came second, while the third place went to Amer Al Dahmani from the Abu Dhabi Cycling Club as well. At the team level, the Abu Dhabi Cycling Club won first place, and Al Shaafar Jumeirah ranked second Transportation security – Dubai – is in third place.
The women’s challenge was also held on Saturday on Hudayriat Island, and the My Wash team dominated the first three places, as Safia Al-Sayegh was crowned first after she covered a distance of 50 km with a time of 01:24:01 hours, and Asma Belhamer came in second place, and Marwa Salman in the center Third, and at the team level, the Ma Wash team won the first place, the Yasi team came in the second place, and the Al Shafar Jumeirah team came in the third place.
The winners were crowned by Mohammed Sanad Al Qubaisi, Vice President of the UAE Cycling Federation, Al Nakhira Al Khaili, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Cycling Club, Ahmed Al Qubaisi, Executive Director of the Support Services Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Suhail Al Arifi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and Nasser Al Zaabi, Director of the Communications Office. At the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and representatives from MyWash.
It is worth noting that 300,000 dirhams were allocated as cash prizes for the winners.
