Be careful. Three idols of gods have been found during excavation in an old well located near an ancient temple in Khaggu Sarai. This has created an atmosphere of curiosity in the area. A marble statue was found during digging in the well around 10.24 am on Monday morning. After this, the second idol was found at 10.28. Upon further digging, a third statue appeared in the debris around 11:30 p.m. All the idols were taken out. ASP Shreeshchandra took possession of all three idols. When the news of finding the idols spread, people started gathering there. People’s curiosity increased so much that they started chanting Har Har Mahadev and Jai Shri Ram.
ASP said that prima facie the marble idol seems to be of Karthikeya, which is also broken, while the second idol seems to be of Ganesha and the third one seems to be of Goddess Lakshmi. In fact, on Saturday, a massive electricity checking campaign was being conducted in Deepa Sarai area under the leadership of DM Dr. Rajendra Pansia and Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar. During this time the officers had reached Khaggu Sarai, a locality adjacent to Deepa Sarai. Everyone was stunned to see an ancient temple there closed and in a dilapidated condition.
On enquiry, it was found that some Hindu families lived in this area but they migrated from here after the 1978 riots. The police administration broke the door of the temple.
