Kanchen Sahu, a shopkeeper, was selling a packet of two samosas for Rs. But recently the price was increased and the price of both samosas was fixed at Rs. This led to a dispute between the debtor and the young man. When the matter escalated, the shop owner approached the police and lodged a complaint. The police filed a case under sections 294, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and launched an investigation.
As part of the investigation, police called and questioned the young man who had come to buy samosas. But the disgruntled young man set himself on fire. Witnesses immediately put out the fire and took her to a nearby community health center. From there he was transferred to the district hospital but 24 young men died this month. The cause of death was burns all over the body, police said.
Pushprajgarh Sub-Divisional Police (SDOP) said it has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
