Kolkata. In the case of brutality with a female doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata, questions are being raised on the process of collecting samples from the spot after the victim’s death. According to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the investigation process has been affected due to mistakes made during collection of samples.
CBI sources say that the two forensic experts who were present at the scene to collect samples on the day the body of the female doctor was recovered were not authorized for this work. Other experts collected the samples in their place. Now the CBI is investigating the background of these two experts in detail and they have also been questioned at length.
Irregularities have been found in the forensic process. According to forensic experts, usually forensic medicine experts collect samples from the dead body. These experts are doctors, while samples from the crime scene are taken by forensic researchers, who are not doctors but are trained in science. Expertise is very important in the forensic process, especially in cases like poisoning, murder and rape. Now it has come to light that the work of collecting samples was not done properly that day.
After the video surfaced, many doctors have raised questions whether there was any deliberate tampering in the sample collection process? Were forensic medicine experts giving any advice to hide evidence in this case? A CBI official said, “The samples from the body appear blurred during collection. It seems that an attempt has been made to hide evidence to weaken the case.” He also claimed that the hospital authorities had said that the body was seen after nine in the morning, but in reality the seminar room was crowded since morning that day.
