New Delhi. Samsung has emerged as India’s largest smartwatch maker in the second quarter ended June 2021.
According to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker, Samsung’s smartwatch shipments registered a year-on-year growth of 860 percent, taking the company to the number one spot in India.
Riding on the popularity of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Watch 3 series, Samsung led the way with a volume market share of 41.2 per cent in the June quarter.
Samsung is constantly striving to update smartwatch features that enable users to lead a healthier life, the company said in a statement. Samsung recently started pre-bookings for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in India. The Galaxy Watch 4 series will usher in a new generation.
The South Korean tech giant recently launched Galaxy Watch 4 starting at Rs 23,999 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic starting at Rs 31,999.
The Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic are the first smartwatches to feature the new Wear OS jointly created by Google. The biggest feature of the device is that it allows users to check their blood circulation on the go, at work or at home.
The Galaxy Watch 4 is equipped with Samsung’s unprecedented bio-active sensor.
This new 3-in-1 sensor uses a single chip to power three powerful health sensors – Optical Heart Rate, Electrical Heart and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis – so users can monitor their blood pressure, AFib irregular heart rate, and more. Measures their blood oxygen to detect heartbeat. (IANS)
