New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party has said that its MP Sanjay Singh is being targeted for raising the Adani issue in Parliament.
Aam Aadmi Party MP in Delhi in connection with liquor policy violation case. Sanjay Singh’s house has been raided by enforcement officers since 7.30 am today (Oct. 4).
The ruling AAP government in Delhi implemented a new liquor policy in November 2021. According to this, 849 liquor shops were given to private individuals. The CBI and the Enforcement Directorate have alleged that the government has lost up to Rs 2,800 crore due to the irregularities. Both the investigating agencies have registered a case and are investigating separately.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has already been arrested and is in jail in the same case. In this case, the officials of the enforcement department have been raiding Sanjay Singh’s house since this morning. Commenting on the raid, Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Reena Gupta said, “Sanjay Singh was constantly raising questions in Parliament regarding the Adani issue. That is why he is now being targeted and raids are being conducted at his house. Nothing has been found in previous raids. Nothing will be found today. The Enforcement Directorate told reporters yesterday. They conducted house searches. Today, Sanjay Singh’s house is being searched,” he said.
Sanjay Singh’s father Dinesh Singh has said that he will fully cooperate with the investigation by the enforcement department. Speaking to reporters in this regard, he said, “Enforcers are doing their job. I don’t know when exactly they came. But it will be 7.30 in the morning. They have been conducting searches since then. I have told them that you can conduct searches even till midnight. I don’t want them to come again and again.” He said.
Protest demanding resignation of Chief Minister: Meanwhile, the BJP started a protest in Delhi demanding the resignation of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Speaking to the media, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said, “Arvind Kejriwal should resign from the post of Chief Minister. Former ministers Satyender Jain and Manish Sisodia are in jail for a long time. Arvind Kejriwal is trying to save them. Arvind Kejriwal is the mastermind behind their actions.”
BJP President Gaurav Bhatia said, “Arvind Kejriwal is the main point of liquor policy abuse. Sanjay Singh has said that he paid Rs. 32 lakh to the Aam Aadmi Party. He is sitting in the chief minister’s house and collecting money. Investigation has revealed that crores of rupees have been collected in this way.”
In this situation, Aam Aadmi Party leader Adishi, speaking to the media about this issue, said, “The Central Government has hired hundreds of people for the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI to trouble the people. But they have not been able to prove that even a single rupee has been corrupted. This shows that the BJP is afraid of the Aam Aadmi Party. In the coming parliamentary elections “Prime Minister Modi knows very well that he is going to lose. It is because of that fear that the houses of Aam Aadmi Party leaders and journalists are being raided,” he said.
