My dream is to release a film on Sankranti. It ends with this film. Big stars movies are also releasing. I think this is the big Sankranti for Tollywood after covid. As for me, I will watch Veerasimha Reddy, Waltheru Veeraya and Varasudhu according to the release. Apart from them, I think ‘Kalyanam Kamaniyam’ is more special because it is my film. Prabhas Anna’s movie Varsham directed by Nanna was also released on Sankranthi. All these coincided with the movie.
I heard the story of ‘Kalyanam Kamaniyam’ while the shooting of Ek Mini Katha was going on. My friend Ajay, the co-producer of this film, introduced the director Anil Kumar. I liked the story he told. We watch two types of movies. One is aspirational and the other is relatable. This is a story we can all relate to. Such stories are rare. After telling the story, I happily agreed.
In the social comedy movies I have done so far, my characters are somewhat far from reality. But my character of Shiva in this film is very genuine. There is no fakeness in it. Shiva’s character will respond honestly as per the situation. If we try for appreciation that we are acting well, the genuineness in that performance will be lost. I acted like that character. Shruti does a job in this while Shiva does not have a job. But this alone is not the key to the story. We show how this new couple overcomes the challenges of their married life and moves forward. ‘Kalyanam Kamaniyam’ does not have regular format cinema dimensions. This movie is an appearance law

Words are not enough to tell about the support given to me by Prabhas. He is the biggest star in India. They supported the promotion of my previous films. The song of this movie is being released. I am his fan. What we have between us is the bond between a fan and a star. I must have been very lucky to have the love of Prabhas.
