Sarah Engels’ profile
Sarah Engel’s CV
Sarah Engels was born on October 15, 1992 in Cologne. She performed as a singer at street festivals and at school at a young age because it was already clear to her that she wanted to become a singer.
In 2009 she applied for “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”, but failed in the recall due to text problems. The next year she only made it to the second round because the lyrics once again thwarted her plans.
After graduating from secondary school, she began training as a language assistant. Then she applied again in 2011 “Germany seeks the superstar” and made it to the theme shows, where she was voted out by the audience in the first round.
But fate was kind to her: Due to a colleague’s absence due to illness, she was allowed back on stage and made it to the final – together with the love of her life Pietro Lombardi, to whom she ultimately lost. But that had no impact on her future success.
With that of Dieter Bohlen The single “Call My Name” shot to second place in the charts in May 2011 and was even nominated for the Echo. “I Miss You” and the album “Heartbeat” also made it this far.
At the end of 2011, Sarah and Pietro went on tour in Germany together. Her solo tour followed a year later. She has also appeared on television shows such as “Night of the Dance”.
In 2012, Sarah Engels also won the Napster Fan Prize and was nominated for the CMA Awards. During this time, everything revolved around the “DSDS” dream couple: in 2015, the four-part documentary soap “Sarah and Pietro … build a house” was broadcast on TV.
In 2016 she demonstrated her dancing skills and took part in the competition together with her dance partner Robert Beitsch “Let’s Dance” took second place.
After Sarah and Pietro separated in 2016, Sarah published her own documentary a year later: “Sarah – Back to Me”.
Despite the dramatic separation, Sarah Engels stayed on TV: She won “The Big Celebrity Baking” in 2018 and “Dancing On Ice” a year later.
At the end of 2019 she even sat on the jury of the casting show alongside Dieter Bohlen and Bruce Darnell “The Super talent”. Also on the popular show “The Masked Singer” Sarah was there. She impressed the audience with her performance until the end – and won the show.
But Sarah can’t just sing, dance and bake. She can act too! On the ZDF “Dream Ship” she demonstrated her skills in the Christmas episode 2019 and the New Year episode 2022. She also got her first leading role in the Sat.1 musical film “The Dancer and the Gangster – Love in a Detour” in 2022.
In 2021, she also released her third album “At the moment”.
