Satyavati Rathore reminded that Congress did not give as much funds as KCR Sarkar gave to Medaram Jatara during its lifetime. He said that not much funds have been allocated for the welfare of tribals in the central budget and the state government has allocated a larger amount of funds for tribals in the budget than what was announced by the centre. Duyya said that the Modi government is neglecting the tribals and BJP’s love is only for elections and power. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been accused of making a false statement in Parliament on the issue of Telangana Tribal University.
Satyavati Rathore said that the Center has lied as a witness to the Parliament that the tribal university proposal has not been received and the Union Minister’s statement is surprising. She urged the Center to refrain from taking advantage of the tribals. He said that in 2017, his government proposed 170 acres of land in Mulugu district for the tribal university and sent proposals to the central government. Satyavati Rathore accused BJP of blocking the university from coming to Telangana. The Union Minister demanded an apology to the people of Telangana for making a false statement in Parliament.
Meanwhile, CM KCR announced in August last year that he will also introduce a tribal bandhu scheme on the lines of dalit bandhu. But so far the government has not taken any step regarding the implementation of the scheme. The recently announced budget does not even mention tribal relations. Although the government has always said that they will provide the tribals who cultivate the waste lands, there is a delay in that process too. At such a moment Satyavati Rathore once again brought the issue of tribal kinship and dry lands to the fore.
