The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the ownership of the natural resources in the divided submerged area, including the entire Al-Durra field, is joint ownership between the Kingdom and the State of Kuwait only.
And the Saudi Press Agency “SPA” published the following statement on Tuesday evening: “In reference to what was circulated about the “Al-Durra” field, an informed source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained to the Saudi Press Agency that the ownership of the natural resources in the divided submerged area, including the entire Al-Durra field, is the ownership of Shared between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait only, and they alone have full sovereign rights to exploit the wealth in that region.
The source added, “The Kingdom renews its previous calls for the Iranian side to start negotiations to demarcate the eastern border of the submerged area divided between the Kingdom and Kuwait as one negotiating party against the Iranian side, in accordance with the provisions of international law.”
