Saudi Arabia previously hosted four editions, the first in Jeddah in 2018, when Juventus won the title after defeating Milan 1-0.
Then the tournament moved to the capital, Riyadh, in 2019, where Lazio was able to achieve the title after defeating Juventus 3-1. In 2022, Inter topped the podium after defeating Milan 3-0.
As for the last edition, and the first with the participation of four clubs, it was held at the beginning of this year and Inter was able to maintain its title after Napoli won 1-0.
Juventus is the most successful Super Cup winner (9 times), followed by Inter (8) and Milan (7).
Saudi Arabia aspires to become a global sporting power. Since 2020, it has hosted the Dakar Rally, a round of Formula One races since 2021, launched the “Live Golf” league and hosted elite boxing fights, as well as attracting international football stars, led by the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo.
It will host the 2027 Asian Cup in football, the 2034 Asian Games, and the 2029 Asian Winter Games, while it is the only candidate to host the 2034 World Cup in football.
