The General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority and the General Authority of Ports signed today a memorandum of understanding in the field of logistical linkage between air and sea ports at the headquarters of the Civil Aviation Authority in Riyadh.
The memorandum aims at logistical linkage between air and sea ports, which enhances the smooth movement of goods by sea and air, supports operations and logistics services, and consolidates the Kingdom’s pivotal position in the global logistics field, and will also contribute to raising the level of logistics and customs services provided by all these sectors.
The memorandum of cooperation achieves the completion of logistical linkages between air and sea ports, which would contribute to raising the level of logistical services provided to all beneficiaries of all categories, through the implementation of realistic experiments to transport goods between land and sea ports, and cooperation with the relevant authorities to address any challenges that may arise. occur during these operations.
The memorandum also aims to support the logistical movement by revitalizing and activating the linking of air freight services with sea freight through the Kingdom’s airports and ports, to invest in the Kingdom’s strategic location, in linking regional and global markets, and to benefit from the integration and interdependence between sea and air transport, in strengthening the Kingdom’s position, and supporting the global economic movement. , according to “Was”.
