Hajj registration procedures will be announced soon
However, the ministry said it would soon announce the registration date and other procedures for this year’s Hajj. This is the first time this year that foreign pilgrims have been allowed to perform the Hajj after a gap of two years following the escalation of the Kovid expansion. In 2020, only 1,000 pilgrims were allowed inside the country and last year only 60,000 were allowed to perform the Hajj. Earlier, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah had decided to increase the number of Hajj pilgrims to 10 lakh this year to cater to more foreigners after a gap of two years.
Restrictions will remain in place for those who come to pray

Meanwhile, officials said the number of worshipers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Madinah and Masjid al-Nabawi would be restricted subject to health and safety regulations. Pilgrims should take health and safety precautions while performing Hajj. The ministry said that only those who have been fully vaccinated against the Kovid vaccine and those under the age of 62 will be allowed to perform the Hajj this time.
Visit visa holders are not allowed to perform Hajj

However, the ministry said that only those who have come to the country with a special visa for Hajj will be allowed to perform Hajj. The ministry said this in response to doubts raised in this regard. Those who come to Saudi Arabia on visitor visas are not allowed to perform Hajj. However, this provision does not apply to those staying on a residence visa within the country. The ministry said it would announce the procedures for those in Saudi Arabia to apply for the Hajj on its official website. The ministry had earlier warned believers not to be fooled by websites that offer hajj registration facilities.
