According to official data, the total number of judgments issued by courts and labor departments amounted to about 19,908 judgments during the seven months since the beginning of the Hijri year, at a rate of 95 cases per day.
According to data issued by the Ministry of Justice, the courts and circuits of the Riyadh region accounted for 34.7% of these rulings with about 6,911 rulings, followed by the Makkah region’s circuits with 5,353 rulings.
The issues of the issued rulings varied between claims for wages and requests for allowances, others related to compensation and rewards, and requesting a service certificate, in addition to disputes related to the employer imposing disciplinary penalties on the worker or related to requesting exemption from them, and others, according to Al-Iqtisadiah newspaper.
The Eastern region came third with 3,703 judgments, followed by Medina with 1,276 judgments, Asir region with 816 judgments, Jizan with 812 labor judgments, then the Qassim region with 496 judgments.
The judgments issued in the labor departments of the Tabuk region amounted to 256 judgments, followed by Al-Baha with 190 judgments, Al-Jawf with 160 judgments, and the Northern Borders and Najran with 115 judgments each.
The labor court systems set specific time periods for accepting claims for rights, including those related to claims related to the work system or domestic employment, which are subject to specific periods for amicable settlement before judicial consideration, in addition to complaints against the General Organization for Social Insurance with regard to participation, registration and compensation.
The amicable settlement procedures before filing lawsuits subject to the labor law to the labor courts are 21 days, and if the amicable settlement is not completed within that period, the dispute is submitted to the labor courts electronically through the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
