The Saudi Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, affirmed the Kingdom’s continued support for the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council in all fields, in a way that serves the Yemeni people, in addition to supporting the efforts of the UN envoy to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution in Yemen that achieves peace and development for Yemen.
This came during the reception of Prince Khalid bin Salman, head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Muhammad al-Alimi, at his residence during his visit to Saudi Arabia, according to the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”, on Tuesday.
The Saudi Minister of Defense conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council and members of the Council, and their wishes for Yemen and its people for security and stability.
He also congratulated Prince Khaled bin Salman, Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, and the members of the Council on the occasion of their country’s Unity Day.
For his part, Al-Alimi conveyed, Prince Khalid bin Salman, his greetings and the members of the Council to the leadership of the Kingdom.
The kingdom’s efforts
Al-Alimi and the members of the Council also appreciated the efforts of the Kingdom, its economic, developmental and relief support, and its endeavor to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people in all Yemeni governorates, praising the great role that the Kingdom is providing for the cease-fire, reviving the political process, and reaching a comprehensive and sustainable political solution in Yemen according to the nationally agreed terms of reference. and internationally under the auspices of the United Nations.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Yemen, Muhammad bin Saeed Al Jaber, and the Director General of the Office of the Minister of Defense, Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif.

The Saudi ambassador to Yemen in Sana’a
It is noteworthy that the Saudi ambassador to Yemen, Muhammad Al Jaber, visited Sana’a at the end of last April as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to bring Yemeni views closer, and in support of international efforts to “stabilize” the armistice, which officially ended last October, after it was renewed more than once. .
The United Nations and its special envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, are pushing to urge the Yemeni parties to conduct direct negotiations to end the years-long war.
Grundenberg also stressed repeatedly in recent times the importance of maintaining the current momentum in the Yemeni file and building on the progress achieved by all parties so far, especially recently in the prisoner exchange deal that took place between the two sides. He stressed the importance of dialogue, the availability of political will, and making concessions on both sides.
