RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that local and foreign Muslims living in Saudi Arabia can register for this year’s Hajj until 10th of Ramadan. Saudi citizens and foreigners residing in the country who have not performed the annual Hajj pilgrimage before this can apply for Hajj until the 10th of Ramadan, the ministry said on Twitter.
Those who have already done Hajj are also eligible to apply
At the same time, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has stated that those who have already performed Hajj in Saudi Arabia will be given an opportunity to apply for Hajj again. From April 1 (Ramadan 10) give opportunity to those who belong to this category to apply for Hajj. The Ministry has informed that those who have performed Hajj in the last five years or earlier from Ramadan 11 can also apply. Applications will be accepted only on the basis of availability of tents and other accommodation. From last January 5th, applications for Hajj have been accepted through Nusuk application and online for those in Saudi Arabia. Only those who have not yet performed Hajj in Saudi had the opportunity to apply. The Ministry also clarified that the registration should be done through the link https://localhaj.haj.gov.sa or through Nusik app.

Final installment of package amount by 10th of Ramadan
The ministry has released four packages for domestic pilgrims who want to participate in Hajj, priced from 3984 Riyals to 11,841 Riyals. The ministry also informed that domestic pilgrims can pay this year’s Hajj fee in three installments. Earlier it could be paid only once. The last installment must be paid by the 10th of Ramadan. The ministry had earlier stated that there is no restriction on the number of pilgrims from around the world during the upcoming Hajj season. Before Covid, about 25 lakh Muslims used to participate in Hajj annually. According to Islamic belief, Muslims who are physically and financially able to perform Hajj must perform Hajj at least once in their lifetime.
All 100 gates of Masjid Dunna Bavi will be opened
Meanwhile, Saud Al-Saeedi, Under-Secretary of the Mosque Affairs Department for Security Affairs, said that in order to facilitate the movement of the faithful during the Holy Ramadan and to allow the entry of iftar food, all the gates of the Madinah Mosque will be opened. Prophet’s Mosque has 100 gates. They will be open throughout Ramadan. He also informed that the escalators to the terrace of Masjid Dunna Bavi and 70 gates in the perimeter wall will be kept open during Ramadan. Separate gates have been designated for the entry of Iftar dishes into the Masjid Dunna Bavi so as not to cause difficulty to other believers. Saud al-Saeedi said that separate gates have been designated for each group to enter food items.
Umbrellas are a relief from the heat for Umrah pilgrims
Umbrellas were distributed among the pilgrims to protect them from the scorching sun while performing Tawaf in the open mataf attached to the Holy Kabalah. Umbrellas were distributed free of cost to the pilgrims by the Social and Voluntary Activities Department under the Haram Karya Department. The employees of the Haram Affairs Department distributed thousands of umbrellas among the pilgrims at specially prepared kiosks at various places near the Mataf. Officials also informed that the action is a part of ensuring better facilities for the pilgrims who circumambulate the Kaaba in extreme heat.
