Meanwhile, the new decision to launch train services between Qatar and Saudi Arabia comes as part of a warming of ties between the two countries. Local media reported that discussions have started regarding this. The talks began during the official visit of Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Salih bin Nasser Al Jazer to Doha.
He also discussed the issue with Qatari Transport Minister Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti. It was agreed to hold further discussions between the two sides to learn about this. In addition to the transport sector, the two sides agreed to further strengthen existing cooperation in the areas of civil aviation and ports. During the discussion, the Chairman of the Saudi Transport General Authority, Dr. Rumaih Mohammed Al Rumaih and representatives of the Qatari Ministry of Transport. Ways to develop relations and cooperation between the two countries in various fields were analyzed during the discussion.

Delegations from both countries, led by ministers, visited the Doha Metro and evaluated its activities. With the realization of train service, travel and freight between the two countries will be easier.
