State Bank of India (SBI) has made a huge donation to CCMB. SBI Chairman Dinesh Khara on Tuesday handed over a check of Rs 9.94 crore to Vinay Kumar, Director, Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Tarnaka, Hyderabad.
Dinesh Khara explained that the amount was provided by CSR under the SBI Foundation. He lauded CCMB for its dedicated efforts to strengthen the genome sequencing capabilities and provide data. He said it takes a lot of time and experience to fight deadly viruses like corona. Dinesh Khara said the Center for Excellence would set up two more Satellite Centers for CCMB Genomics Guided Pandemic Prevention. He explained that the SBI Foundation was set up in 2015 to manage the activities of CSR and its affiliates on behalf of SBI. SBI Hyderabad Circle revealed that SBI Deputy Managing Directors OP Mishra, R Vishwanathan and SBI Foundation MD Manjula Kalyana Sundaram were present on the occasion.
