The Supreme Court will hear the petition of Congress leader Pawan Kheda today. In the case of the statement given on PM Modi, the court has given relief to Pawan from arrest till March 17. That is, he cannot be arrested till March 17. The Congress leader called the PM Gautamdas Modi during a press conference. However, later he clarified that he had confusion regarding the name of the Prime Minister.
After this statement, on February 23, while going from Delhi to Raipur for the party convention, the Assam Police arrested Kheda after getting him off the flight. However, he was later granted bail by a magistrate court. On the other hand, Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi filed a petition in the Supreme Court on this matter. He appealed to the court that cases are being registered against Pawan Kheda across the country. In such a situation, his anticipatory bail and all the cases should be heard together.
During the hearing of the case, the Supreme Court had granted interim bail till February 28, giving relief to Kheda. At the same time, during the hearing of the next case, the Assam and Uttar Pradesh police sought time from the court to file their reply in the matter. After which CJI Chandrachud had given time till March 3. The court said that the replies of UP and Assam on the matter are not on record. Now this petition will be heard after the Holi holiday. The bench had extended the interim bail granted to Kheda till March 17.

His work is of Gautamdas. However, later he clarified that he was confused about the name of the Prime Minister.
3rd place FIR: After this statement, Pawan Kheda was booked in Haflong in Dima Hasao district of Assam for communal disturbance and national security. FIR was registered in Varanasi and Lucknow of UP. BJP MLC Mukesh Sharma lodged an FIR at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow.
Arrest before going to Raipur: On February 23, while going from Delhi to Raipur for the Pawan Kheda party convention, the Assam Police arrested Kheda after taking him off the flight. After the arrest, the Congress leaders staged a sit-in at the airport for two hours.
Petition in Supreme Court: On the petition of Abhishek Manu Singhvi, the Supreme Court gave relief to Kheda and ordered interim bail till February 28 and clubbing all the three FIRs at one place. 30 thousand bond was also filled.
CJI’s advice to Kheda: The CJI had said – We have given you protection (from arrest), but there should be some level of rhetoric. On this, Kheda’s lawyer Singhvi said – We also do not support such statements.
Post bail statement: Pawan Kheda said, ‘Assam police arrested me illegally. I was neither given any prior information nor received any notice regarding the arrest. I have full faith in the judiciary, which protected my freedom of speech today. The matter is in the court, so I will not comment.
