Sports Desk. The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday night announced the revised schedule of the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup. This cricket event will begin in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from October 3, 2024 and the final match (T20 World Cup) will be played on October 20.
The first semi-final of the tournament (T20 World Cup) will be played in Dubai on October 17 and the second semi-final in Sharjah on October 18, while the much-awaited match between India and Pakistan will be played in Dubai on October 6. A total of 10 teams are participating in the Women’s T20 World Cup. All the teams have been divided into two groups A and B. Group A includes teams from India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. While Group B includes teams from Bangladesh, South Africa, England, Scotland and West Indies.
A total of 23 matches will be played during this tournament (T20 World Cup). Each team will play four group matches and the top two teams from each group will reach the semi-finals. The ICC said that reserve days have been fixed for both the semi-finals and the final. 10 practice matches will be played from 28 September to 1 October before the tournament (T20 World Cup).
In fact, due to the ongoing political crisis in Bangladesh, the tournament (T20 World Cup) was shifted to UAE. After which on Monday, the ICC released the revised schedule of the Women’s T20 World Cup. The ICC has also announced the practice matches of the Women’s World Cup. The warm-up matches will start from September 28 and all the matches will be over by October 1. Before this 10-team tournament, all the teams will play 2-2 practice matches and then directly enter the tournament.
