Bangkok. A tragic accident occurred in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. On Tuesday, 25 people died when a school bus carrying students and their teachers caught fire. Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said officials have not yet confirmed the death toll.
The bus was traveling from central Uthai Thani province to Ayutthaya for a school trip when it caught fire in the capital’s northern suburb of Pathum Thani province around noon, Transport Minister Surya Jungrungruengkit said at the scene. However, according to the report, there were 44 people traveling in the school bus, out of which 25 died. The condition of 16 is said to be critical. They also said that the bus was still so hot that they could not get inside safely.
In a video of this incident that has surfaced on social media, it is seen that the school bus is burning and a cloud of black smoke is coming out of it. The ages of the students and other details regarding the incident are not known. A rescue worker present at the spot said that the fire probably broke out due to a tire burst of the school bus and then it collided with a road barrier.
