US President Joe Biden is serious about the discovery of classified documents from him, he is cooperating on this case with the Department of Justice and the National Archives and Records Administration. This was announced on Wednesday, January 11, by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre at a regular briefing for journalists.
“This [инцидентом] handled by the Ministry of Justice. I’m not going to go beyond what the president talked about yesterday, what the White House Counsel shared with you on Monday – that’s a lot of detail for all of you about what happened, and I’m not going to go beyond that, ”said Jean. -Pierre.
In addition, at the briefing, the White House press secretary refused to answer the question of why the Washington administration did not inform the public about the secret documents found for so long, and who brought them to Biden’s office. The White House is also not ready to talk about the possible discovery of new secret documents in other offices of the US President.
About 10 classified materials, which were stored together with papers that did not contain classified data, were discovered in the office of the current US president, it became known on January 9th. The discovery was reported to the National Archives, after which the American leader’s lawyers offered to pick up the papers on their own, since they are not the subject of an investigation.
The next day, January 10, Joe Biden said he did not know about the presence of classified documents in his almost unprotected office. The American leader was even surprised by this find.
Nevertheless, on January 11, a source from NBS News informed about the discovery of a second package of classified documents related to Biden. It is noted that the materials were found in a separate location from the Washington office, which Biden used after leaving the administration of former President Barack Obama.
Joe Biden was vice president in the administration of then-US President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017.
