Secunderabad: The fire in Secunderabad’s Deccan Mall building is yet to be brought under control. The building has been on fire for four days. As a result, GHMC has set up warning boards that no one should stay around the building. There is a possibility of the building collapsing at any moment and it has been warned that no one should go into the surrounding areas. As the fire is still not under control, the fire crews are spraying water again.

Crews are removing ash and waste material from the ground floor and cellar. Authorities identified one of the victims yesterday. A skeleton was found on the first floor. It was found that he was burnt alive in the fire. The whereabouts of the other two are yet to be found. The staff is continuing the search operation for them with the help of drone cameras. Firefighters say that it must have been burnt alive, that’s why they are unable to identify it.

The authorities have decided to demolish the building as it is against the rules. Permissions have already been received from higher authorities. At the time of the accident, three people were on the fifth floor and one person was rescued on the second floor. They were brought out with the help of skylift. One of the three missing persons was identified on Saturday, while the other two are yet to be identified. Officials have found that these three missing persons have been working in the mall for some time. Found to be from Maharashtra. Officials say they have been working as laborers in the mall for several years. It is said that out of the three missing persons, two are married and have children, while the other is recently engaged and will be married in March. Officials are unable to identify the identity of the skeleton found on Saturday.

The police have already registered a case and are investigating the accident. The owner was detained and questioned. Officials found that building permits were issued against the rules. The inspection of the officials revealed that there are many such buildings in the city. With this, the GHMC staff is getting ready to take action against the building owners as well.
